Reading progress update: I've read 178 out of 395 pages.

The Fault in Our Stars - John Green

Okay, so, I've gotten pretty far in this. So far, honestly, it's kind of "meh". I mean I'm getting through it, and it's okay. There were some moments I gave the book a side-eye, and there were some that I had to actually pause reading because the words/adverbs/speech got too much that I literally couldn't take it anymore. I keep noticing a connection with Shakespeare and other very literary poets. Sometimes, due to that and just how pretentious the writing gets, the books does go over my head. I do understand what people mean by the teenagers don't talk like teenagers. I see that point now, and I have to agree. I'm only recently starting to kind of enjoy it but it still has the "meh" feeling to it.

I don't want to give too much away because of spoilers but so far, I'm still kind of not seeing them kind of fall in love, if that makes sense. It either feels rushed or not there. Like there was some kind of progression or something missed, if that makes sense.

ETA: Just wanted to point out, that yes, there were/are times that Augustus had/has made me uncomfortable. Just wanted to put that out there.
