"Gone Girl" by Gillian Flynn -- A Book Review

Okay, so, I finally got around to reading this book. It got really popular in 2012 - 2013, around that time. This book was amazing. (And I'm not trying to make a pun or reference there, I promise). Granted, it may not be hard for me to like a book in the Mystery, Thriller, Suspense genre, but this was so good. Like greatly good. I really wanted to wait before I reviewed to digest everything but I changed my mind.
So, if you haven't heard anything about this nor read the synopsis. Gone Girl is basically about a wife--Amy Elliott Dunne (known due to her parents' Amazing Amy book series)--on the morning of her fifth wedding anniversary. And the longer she's missing, the more and more her husband, Nick Dunne, starts to look not so good. This book literally had me constantly thinking and trying to figure out what was going to happen or go on. I was constantly trying to process and ON TOP of that, I just couldn't put it down. It was that good.
I will say that Amy and Nick aren't really the most likable people. In fact, there are probably few characters in the whole book who are likable or don't have some kind of mess or something funny about them. Anyway, they aren't likable. The more you get into the story, the more you start to see just how likable they really are. However, this did not deter me from reading. It might have been because I was so interested plus I guess I saw some of the character's (probably more Nick's than Amy's) stand-point on a few things. I definitely didn't agree with them but I at least saw where the thought came from I guess. Which I can say is something I like. I find understanding/relating to a character is better than outright liking them (especially just because they're supposed to be liked), if that makes sense. So, yes, points for that.
Again, it was awesome. I thought it was so good.
