"Mistress" by James Patterson and David Ellis

So, this is one of the few instances lately that I actually found myself not being able to stop reading or to put a book down. I found myself reading chapter after chapter. (And the chapters are short but there are a lot of them there). It was just that engrossing for me. I found the main character, Ben, quite interesting. Sometimes, I will admit some of the time he felt a little out of character--at least with the thoughts in his head. However, after going through what he had, I wouldn't necessarily blame him. I just found myself a few times looking a bit questioningly at what I was reading. If there is any criticism, it's that. Other than that. I actually really liked this book and was fully wrapped up in it. It's full of twists and turns, even more than I expected. And it has those moments of where it kind of relaxes then goes full thrill ride again. Which I think is good. There were probably a few predictable moments there. I don't want too much. But there may have been once or twice to where I could figure out what was going to happen, but it wasn't a sure thing at the same time due to what the previous parts of the book lead to or made you guess. I also liked the references to Pop Culture and television. I thought they were funny, and again, I guess a bit quirky. (For example, there's a point in the book where the MC mentions Castle, which one a favorite show of mine and I found that funny--probably funnier than it should've been). So, yeah, I really liked it and I'm glad that I picked it up. Great read.
